A poem: Love in my Arms

I'll stop with soppy poems soon, honest!

I need someone to love,
Because the roses smell so sweet,
And when I hand you a bouquet,
You’ll be a delicate scene in my memory.

I can’t promise you the world,
But give you the best an honest man can,
You’d be the first thought on my mind,
So darling please give me your time.

You won’t regret taking that chance,
When I’m whispering in your ear,
Our bodies entwined under the duvet,
Your head resting on my happy heartbeat.

I’d cherish you my sweetheart,
Keep you safe and certainly secure,
Protecting your tender beauty,
No demons will reach your door.

I’d write you a song too,
Even though I can’t sing so pure,
We could live in a house in the country,
And walk through the fields of paradise.

I just ask you to take my hand,
And I’ll guide you to my heart,
The best decision you could make,
Is falling into my arms.
