This is one I actually wrote yesterday but felt like sharing anyway, bit more of a reality check sort of poem, hope you like it :)
The Illusion of Perfection
The illusion of perfection,
It twists our minds to destruction,
Teasing us with our ideals,
Like a carrot on a stick,
Dangling carelessly ahead,
Never to be bitten.
Simplicity is complicated,
Our perception of life sombre,
As our wants and needs are lived,
By others not realising their fortune,
Jealousy is a fickle experience,
Revealing the weaknesses inside.
Thoughts once strong pale with age,
A lack of opportunity and understanding,
Bringing the best and worst out,
The rose lays crumpled and crushed,
Its heart faded and succumbing,
To the way of feelings.
