A poem: Cliff

This one is about slowly losing someone

Cliff

Was I always the one to blame,
Or was it your stubbornness?
That’s something I’d never tell you,
Your flaws glaring at me,
Like a ruby in a cliffside.

That cliff is where I’m perched,
Clinging on to yesterday,
Jumping being so difficult,
Yet so fruitful,
A blissful uncertainty.

When we were together,
I was as far from the sea,
As you were.
You crept to this cliffside,
Jumping and letting go.

I didn’t deserve that,
But that’s something I’d never tell you.
